Building a Process I
For people building on the Platform for the first time. Build a working solution with Flows, Knowledge Bases, Tables and Agents, lesson by lesson, by automating a real process: a manufacturer's supplier certificate check.

Before you start
This course builds on 3 courses. Take them first: the certificate is issued once every one is complete.
Ends in a certification once every page and the course check are done, and the prerequisites are complete.
This course builds one real process on the Platform, from the first look at the work to a deployed solution. You read documents in a FlowFlowA defined sequence of operations, built from nodes connected in order. A Flow has named inputs and outputs, so other components can use it without knowing the steps inside. It can mix exact logic with model steps, and can call or be called by an Agent., validate the results, connect a business system, load a policy, store records, configure an AgentAgentA model given instructions, context and a set of tools, working towards an objective and choosing its own next step from what it finds. In Noxus, an Agent can be used in conversation, where a person asks it questions, or inside a Process, where it performs a task. that answers from those sources, and put it all in front of the people who use it.
Lessons explain each component and walk through its configuration. Exercises ask you to apply what you have learned to another process.
Who this course is for
Implementation engineers, solution engineers and technical consultants starting to build on the Platform. You need no AI or programming skills.
The course assumes Platform Foundations for the vocabulary and Platform First Steps for the editor, and it starts from the Flow you build there. The list above shows where you stand on each.
The scenario
A manufacturer's quality team receives supplier certificates by email and checks each one by hand. They collect the information the check needs, judge the certificate against it, and record the result. If something is missing or unclear, they follow up. Today, that means moving between documents and systems several hundred times a week.
Before you build, you break down how the team works today and what each step is for. That decides what you build. Then you test the process with real certificates, several of which should fail. The process you will build describes it on one page.
How the course is organised
| Module | What the process needs | What you build |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | An understanding of the work | A process map and a component chosen for each step |
| 2 | The values printed on the certificate and in the email | The reader from First Steps, turned into named fields and extended to the email |
| 3 | Difficult documents read correctly, and an exact first check | Prompting, error paths, Run Code and a Switch with three outcomes |
| 4 | The supplier and material records | API requests to the ERP, and a write back |
| 5 | The rules, and a judgement against them | A Knowledge Base and an Agent node |
| 6 | A record of every submission | A Table, written on every path |
| 7 | Answers to the specialist's questions | An Agent with the policy and the register as tools |
| 8 | A way for people and emails to start it | Subflows, an App, a trigger and a widget |
| 9 | Cases and tasks with owners | Coming soon, in the Case Management course |
Each module ends with a quality gate, the mistakes to check your own build for before moving on, and a check: five questions from a bank of ten. Retry as often as you like; your best attempt counts. To build along you need a Noxus workspace where you can create Flows, Knowledge Bases, Tables and Agents.
